Montenegro – The Black Mountain – is a jewel of the Adriatic Sea, nestled between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, and Albania.
Known for its historical cities, crystal clear lakes and beautiful beaches you can also enjoy skiing in the magnificent mountains. Montenegro has 117 beaches spread out over its 293 kilometers of coastline. There are rocky, sandy, small concealed, and magnificent pink pebble ones.
Lake Skadar in Montenegro is one of Europe’s largest bird sanctuaries. It is a crucial stop for migrating birds and is home to approximately 270 bird species. The oldest olive tree in the world is found in Montenegro’s southern town of Bar, where it is known as Stara Maslina. Trees that are more than 2,000 years old are a spectacular sight in a region famed for its hectares of exquisite olive groves.
